A stunning album from the father of Rai trumpet with magic vocals from Cheb Ourrad Houarri. Recorded in in London. Sleve has a little crease on front top corner and below it. Record as new. A very simple beat which coupled with the raw trumpets of both Bellemou and Gana el Maghnaoui plus mesmeric vocals will have you up and swaying rhythmically around the dance floor as soon as it starts.
A little bit of wear on the front LH corners but otherwise almost as new. Record in perfect condition as only played twice, the second time to record the clips. The title track N'sel Fik, by Fadela and her husband Cheb Sahraoui, was a huge hit in when it was released in and is still a favorite of mine.
The rest of the tracks are also very enjoyable. Condition as almost as new both record and cover. Real belter of an album with the throbbing rai rhythms taking total control of mind and body.
Some great duets which are filled with emotion. HE RAI 3. Sitting on my shelf unopened since so now in it's about time I had a listen. Great set of tracks with heart rending duets set to traditional music with a bit of westernisation for added flavour.
I particularly liked track 5 with its touch of Spanish guitar play. Great singing on this album made back in I just love the twangy backing to Zahouania's husky and sensuous vocals on the second track while her sultry voice really comes into its own on the seventh track. MAMI 4. Released in and not, I think, as the title says the best but rather some of her sweetest songs. KHALI Superb Rai album released by Island back in and I would still rate it as one of the best.
Her deep and rough vocals are addictive and she has dueted with many of the top male stars of Rai music. Just have a listen to Ya Laoulid and feel that sensuous rhythm that tells you to get up and dance. A lovely CD album released back in as part of the Salam Maghreb series. Some great tracks here so have a listen. A rather plain looking cassette dating from that hides some absolutely magic music, her best ever album? Just have a listen to Ana Oulef Nergoud which must be my favourite Rai track of all.
Oh what have they done to one of the most stunning voices of Rai music. Electronic distortion of that magic voice ruins the opening tracks and is a crime. Thankfully it gets less as it goes on. Producers if you ever read this what on earth were you thinking of.
KETAB A very popular modern Rai singer with nearly 20 album to his credit by This one was released in and while very nice is just a bit too electronic on the vocals for my rather conservative tastes. Other than that you can't fault it. Have a listen. CD plays as new however front inlay has a couple of tab marks from the case. One of the great rai singers who was mentored early on by Cheb Mami. Singing from the age of 12 he joined a local rai band Farachete in He had a major hit in Algeria with his second cassette, Bela-Babi, in before moving to France in Singing traditionally based songs with modern slant got him signed to a recording contract with French label Blue Silver.
Case and inlay in good condition. The cassette side B is OK but side A has a few small volume drops on the left channel. You can hear one in the middle of the clip from Adjedek. There seems to be no mention of this album or any of its tracks anywhere on the web so obviously rather rare. A smooth as silk album from Kada who later released an album with his cousin Cheb Kaled simply called Duo. He also issued two other albums called Melite and Megouani.
The later CD included four of the six tracks from this album but left out tracks 4 and 6. Both record and sleeve in mint condition. Released back in as Best, which was a bit premature as his first releases the cassettes Cheb Kader and Hassania plus LP El Awama did not contain any of the tracks. They all came from the cassette Ray Darli. Anyway who cares where they came from when they are this good. Sleeve has a bit of rub on the spine otherwise as new.
Record plays as new - have a listen to the clips. RAIBA 5. An early album from the undisputed king of Rai. Thumping rhythmic drums and organ with the king belting out his power packed vocals.
I have only come across the name of one of these tracks on any other album and that was track 3 which was released on the Khaled Rebel of Rai double CD. Released way back in as Rai was starting to take off with music lovers around the world. Soulful early Rai with solid beat and wonderful vocals from the King himself. Sleve in mint condition. Record has only been played twice, once for the clips - have a listen and both record and sleeve are in new condition but does have the odd little click.
As it says on the back of the CD. One of the first examples of Rai to be taken seriously outside northern Africa, it could called 'roots Rai'.
Raw energy of songs captured in an Algerian studio and sung by the undisputed King of Rai - Cheb Khaled. Condition of CD case and inlays all as new. Another early album probably early to mid 80's from the undisputed king of Rai. Says Chab on the cover but as you can see its is definitely the Cheb himself.
Nice clean copy almost as NEW. Released back in another great album from the undisputed king of Rai. Although the first three titles have been released on various CD's none as far as I can tell are the from the same recordings as these on the cassette. The La Camel suite who's two parts takes up the whole of the 19 minutes of side B is also only to be found on this cassette. Condition as NEW. Lovely traditional based album with both artists dueting throughout.
This would definitely have rocked the casbah back in when it was released. Superb two albums on one CD. A lovely set of early tracks from and another very rare cassette that has not been re-released on CD.
When making a CD-R copy for my own collection I found a few drop out faults and a couple of sudden endings plus tracks in the wrong order. If you are buying this cassette I will send you a copy of my collection CDR with it which has had all this corrected.
Very rare just try finding this tape on the web. The title track is incredible but the rest of the album is just as good. Beautiful songs and an inventive mix of modern Rai and French influenced music. BLEDI 4. AZWAW 2 Pretty hard to find in decent condition. Spine has a tiny bit of ware otherwise cover and record are mint. A real belter that throbs from start to finish. Originally released in as and Re-released in France by Virgin in H'BABI 2.
MA MA 3. BAIDA 7. Recorded in by Numidie Music and quite an interesting item. First of all the track listing is incorrect as 1 - 3 is side B and 4 -6 is side A. The first track No. There is also a small left drop towards the end of track 5, the rest of the tracks are pretty much OK.
The interesting bit is that track 3 is Chaba Fadela's original N'sel Fik from with different lyrics and three years before her big hit with it dueting with husband Cheb Sahraoui. Track 2 will also I am sure ring some bells with the music if not the lyrics. Nice French produced Rai album from with smooth as silk vocals from Cheb Tati. The usual keyboard, drums and guitars with a bit of sax from Alain valarsa and some derbouka from Mohscein Hantouf. Record and sleeve as NEW.
Played once for the clips so have a listen. A lovely set of classic Rai dance tracks that throbs from start to finish. Zahouani's vocals power out over the sound of modern Parisienne style keyboard backing and percussion.
Released back in just after he hit the big time in Paris. Sleeve has a small bit of wear on top and side otherwise very good. Record is as new. Rai with that thumping rhythmic drumming that's missing on recent Euro releases.
Instrument wise it seems to have a bit of everything combined with Zahouani's power packed vocals. The last track has to be unique as the manufacturer has put his squeaky voiced advert in while the song is still going, sounds great.
The title track is addictive and once heard you'll find yourself humming it all the time. I'd include Amr Diab, Dania etc, but their music doesn't appeal to me. Posted by X at pm.
